Angus Voice represents the views and experiences of people in Angus who heave mental health problems. Angus Voice is for and led by people who have personal experience of accessing mental health services. The aim is to build the capacity and involvement of people who use mental health services. It enables us to contribute to improving the services that affect us. The project does this by building partnerships and challenging stigma and discrimination.
The aims of Angus Voice are:
- To influence the strategic direction of Adult Mental Health Services locally, regionally and nationally, and contribute to their overall improvement;
- To support Contributors to become actively involved in the planning, development, evaluation and improvement of mental health services delivered by the statutory, voluntary and independent sectors in Angus;
- To raise awareness of mental health issues within the wider community, including in Further Education establishments; and challenge the stigma associated with mental ill health.

We are here to support parents/carers through the diagnosis of the condition, to provide practical assistance on how to manage the symptoms of the condition on a daily basis and to share information and knowledge. We run youth groups on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday 6pm – 8pm, open to all children ages 5-18 with ADHD. Dundee Sports Development Officers, Diasou Arts and Crafts and Computers. For availability of spaces please contact the ADHD Support Office.
Advice & Support
We offer private and confidential advice and support to any parent/carer who has a child/young person with ADHD.
Monthly Support Group Meetings
Are held on the last Tuesday of every month, 12.30pm – 2.30pm at The Hub@Friockheim for Angus based parents/carers.

This service is available to all adults, aged 16 years and over, living in Angus who experience thoughts of suicide or may have attempted suicide.
We also offer support to family members, carers or friends of adults experiencing suicidal thoughts. There is no application form and no waiting list. Anyone over the age of 16, living in Angus, can access this service. You can choose to remain anonymous.

Breathing Space
Breathing Space is a free and confidential phone service for anyone in Scotland over the age of 16 feeling low, depressed or anxious.
Breathing Space advisors are there in times of difficulty to provide a safe and supportive space by listening, offering advice and providing information.
Breathing Space aims to provide:
- an alternative and easily accessible ‘first stop’ service
- assistance at an early stage in order to stop problems escalating
- empathy, understanding and advice through active listening
- hope when none exists
- direction for those who do not know where to seek help.
